| JustinCerqua.com is designed, developed and run by Justin Cerqua. My previous website Sirkwa.com was designed in Dreamweaver and implemented the basics of .ASP. The entire website content was stored in a MsSQL database. The site featured a secured control panel which allowed you to update the entire website content through a web browser. Not only is this method faster when it comes to updating content it is also extremely user friendly to people that need a website that they could update themselves without having to wait for a webmaster to apply the updates.
JustinCerqua.com is different. Instead of using a program to aid in web development, the entire site is hand coded in notepad. While this path is slower as far as development time goes, it allows complete control over the development of the website. When it comes to web development, it is better to handle the coding yourself rather then have a third party program doing the behind the scene coding for you. This method also gives you hands on experience and knowledge in coding language.
JustinCerqua.com also implements the use of .PHP, a Hypertext Preprocessor scripting language. This allows the website to be dynamic rather than static. The goal is to have almost the entire website written in code and be able to be fully updatable through a web browser like Sirkwa.com was. It will take time because the learning process of PHP is being self-taught.
JustinCerqua.com is a place to showcase my knowledge and skills in web development as well as photography, photo editing, and various other fields of new media. The site will include my portfolio, resume, and other community based information such as tutorials, web design templates, walkthroughs and forums open to discussion.
